FOOD!

I never had morning sickness (thank goodness) or a trillion cravings, but lately I am wanting to try cooking or baking things that seem extremely appealing. If you didn't know, we have changed our eating habits to vegan. Javy has been more strict in following this way of eating than me but I am getting there. I once thought, "what in the world can I eat now other than green stuff?" Fortunately, I have found many vegan recipes and trust me they all taste ridiculously delicious! If you ever were my roommate you know the kitchen and I never had a tight bond. But those days are long gone! Last night I made a berry cake extremely easy to make.
1 and 1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar (I use 1 teaspoon of stevia)
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/3 cup oil
1 and 1/4 cups vanilla soy milk
Zest of one lime
1/2 bag of frozen berries

Preheat the oven to 375 °F.

Combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Zest the lime into the dry ingredients, making sure not to get any pith (the white part under the zest)

Add the oil & soy milk and fold gently to combine. Add the frozen berries, and barely combine.

We accompanied the cake with dairy free vanilla ice cream and trust me I felt as though I were in heaven the whole time I was munching my piece of cake. At least this form of cake doesn't add pounds to my already prego body! yay :)

Our Nani Lani

Sooooo we love the fetal studio at the South Towne Mall. We had a 3D done about a week ago and this is what Lani looks like now! I think she is going o look more like her mommy than her daddy! I do hope she does get her Daddy's dimple!

28 weeks- Third Trimester! Hooray or Uh-Oh

How exciting that I am almost there! In 10- 12 weeks all my back pains should cease to bother me! That's cool but a little girl crying at 3 AM is going to be the new pain! I don't mind it one bit. I can't wait for my little piece of heaven to be here with us. We have already finished her room. Trust me it didn't take a lot of time or money for that matter. Javy and I don't believe in spending a lot of money decorating a baby's room when they are so small. We got the basics and as Lani gets older we will start adding more decorations to her room. We spent about $450 total on everything inside this room from the curtain pole to her dresser. The secret is shopping at Ikea! I am a huge fan of Ikea furniture. The bedding and curtains we bought at Walmart. I am not a huge fan of pink but nothing at the store was just purple and green. My original thought was to decorate her newborn room with a theme of Princess Tiana and the Frog. I guess that will have to wait until she's a toddler as seeing there are more decorations for that age.

A little bit of Bri and Lani

I haven't stopped using my regular clothes yet but shortly I will have to do so. My jeans don't button on some days so I just tie them with my scrunchies. Such a thoughtful thing to do. I almost passed out at the store when they told me that maternity skinny jeans cost $40? As much as I love skinny jeans I refuse to pay $40 for them when I can just go to my favorite store- Forever 21 and get a bigger size just for $13! Now that is a DEAL! I like to keep myself up-to-date with the fashions hence I don't think I will ever wear those maternity jeans with the bell bottom or bootcut. It's just not going to happen. :) I know I am extra picky nowadays. The joy of being pregnant...

Here I am 27 weeks.
These are some pictures of me lately...Here I was 26 weeks old.

Yes, I know I am the slowest blogger on the face of the planet. But, at least I am writing :)
We are so excited for Brilani to come in December! I am already at my 28th week and am becoming a bit anxious about this whole labor deal especially since I am not planning on epidurals. I am willing to endure the pain as long as my baby girl is not affected by any medicines etc.
